I’m a newbie to WP an web creation, but I have managed to get my site up and running with ease, however I am struggling with one aspect. I want to have a page where clients can download certain PDF documents directly from my site. I understand from the plug-in forum that no plug-in is required, as this is a standard WP functionality. I followed the instructions found here : I have created a page, inserted the relevant text, and then created the hyperlink.

I transferred my documents via Firezilla FTP to my host’s server. I then navigated to the server via FTP and copied the URL, which I then inserted in the hyperlink on my site.

The problem now is that when I click on the hyperlink, I get a pop up window asking me to insert the FTP password. I obviously don’t want to have to share my FTP password. What am I doing wrong?

I’d be grateful for any assistance

    Thanks!
