hyperlinks and embedded video results in page not found

The first question we’re always going to ask…

Have you turned off all plugins and tested?
Have you switched to 2011 theme and tested?

Those are always the most likely culprits, and we need to test that first.

Yes “I have cleared my cache and cookies, used different browsers, as well as disabled my plugins and it does not fix this issue.”
I also changed themes and the hyperlink and/or embed still results in a page not found

Can we see a page on your site using 2011 that demonstrates the problems?

We need to see the problem, sometimes. Do you have a page available with a non-working hyperlink?

Esmi that is the problem, I can type in text and there is not issue I can publish, preview and save. When I insert a link or try to embed a video, I can not publish, preview or save, it all results in a page that states that the page is not found.

Back to your post about spammy theme, I am using 2011 child theme, are you saying that the standard 2011 is spammy or the child theme?

Oh – damn! No. I posted something into the wrong topic. I’m so sorry! I’ll delete it and then try to find the poster who has downloaded a really awful theme.

OK thanks for letting me know, scared me that I had been hacked.

When I hit publish (with a hyperlink in the post) a page comes up with this link: https://daemontown.com/wp-admin/post.php
stating that the page not found. If I hit “back” the link in my post has disappeared, and I can publish with out the link.

I should say that I have embedded links and videos before with no issue.

What happens if you publish a simple test page (called literally “Test Page”) with a single hyperlink in it pointing to (say) Google?

Just tried, same thing happens
post was titled “test”
content was the word “Google” with a hyperlink and got the page not found

OK – well that would seem to rule out security changes on your hosts’ server. What happens if you reset your permalinks back to the default setting and rename the .htaccess file in your root WP folder?

tried to reset permalinks and when I hit save make the change, the page goes to a page not found, never seen this before

Alright after multiple tries I was able to reset the permalinks, for some strange reason this seems to have worked or it self corrected or my host fix an issue, I will post again if I have more problems,
