• [Warning: NSFW!]

I have a website that I was trying to add a blog to, so I wanted to be able to find the blog at mywebsite.com/blog. Now the blog is working, but the homepage at mywebsite.com is not. The homepage is very important as its an age verification page, so I need it.

When I uploaded the wordpress files via FTP onto my website I made another folder on my website called Blog so that it would be the same with the address mywebsite.com/blog .

What did I do wrong and how can I fix it quickly? Please speak in laymens terms as I really don’t have a background in this at all. I built the site on dreamweaver if that helps any and I’ve tried uploading the homepage again and its not working.

    Please help!

I receive this message when trying to access mywebsite.com

If you are the owner of this web site you have not uploaded (or incorrectly uploaded) your web site. For information on uploading your web site using FTP client software or web design software, click here for FTP Upload Information.

Did you somehow overwrite your existing files? I’d check your site and see if the files are still there.

all of the files are still there, the rest of the website works except for the homepage at mywebsite.com which is index.php

The site listed in your profile is NSFW. Probably some moderator noticed it and added it, just in case.

    Back to the original query….

All of my files are there, I’m in the process of uploading them via FTP AGAIN. Still the homepage is not working.

Maybe I didn’t make the subdirectory right? I just added a folder to my website in the ftp thing.

    Please help!

Look, you had to have changed something else. Simply adding a new folder with files in it would not do what you are describing, no matter what the files are.

So nobody can answer your question here. What you say you did does not square with the results you say you got. It absolutely could not happen that way.

You have to find what else you changed. Because something else had to have changed.

This is just a guess. The first page of any web site should be index.html. If you have it as index.php, that would blank out your home page. You have to retrieve the page or folder that says index.html and your home page will reappear. I think. Perhaps you should put the html files in a separate folder from the php files. Also another guess.
