I Am At A Complete Loss

  • I guess it’s time to use another piece of software, because wordpress will not work at all.

    I problems upgrading, https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/33373, and now, I tried doing a clean install of 1.5.1 into a brand new directory, with a freshly extracted 1.5.1, and I still get a blank screen when I try to run the install.php on the new installation.

    Nothing works. My website is wiped out. Please help.

    Dang, my version of phpMyAdmin does not have the export feature…

    Do you have shell (ssh) access? Who is your host?

    P.S. That archives link doesn’t seem to have wp1.5.

    My host is bluedomino.com and their phpmyadmin version 2.2.3. Not sure if I have ssh access but I can run queries from the admin panel.

    when you say you can run queries, what do you mean? Do you see any options to download any databases?

    I had a look at bluedomino and it doesn’t seem like you have sufficient access to your database to do anything, unfortunately. I hope I am wrong. They also say that once you create your database, they do not offer any support whatsoever.

    Quite honestly, if I’m right, I see only two outcomes here. ??

    1.
    a) See if you can get your hands on your database. (email, beg, plead… depending on how important it is to you).
    b)Then pack up and RUN to another host. There are thousands of hosts out there who offer a boatload more features and full access to all which is rightfully yours, for exactly the same cost or even less.

    2. If you cannot get your hands on your old database and are faced with starting all over, see 1.b above.
