    Hi @acekin,

The “Blocked by login security” block reason is triggered by the setting Immediately block the IP of users who try to sign in as these usernames under Wordfence> All Options> Firewall options >  Brute Force Protection. You can read more about this setting at https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/brute-force/#lockout-usernames

Please use the unlock email again to regain access and try logging in again.  Please ensure there are no typos in the username you’re using to login, particularly if you are using anything that automatically fills in the username and password, as this setting will not block genuine usernames on the site.

Let me know how it goes!

    Thanks,
    Margaret

Thank you for the quick reply. As I said in my message, I tried that but I was immediately blocked again. There is no way that I can gain access to the site to check those settings. I can login with the same user ID and password after I disable Wordfence by renaming its folder. This is the proverbial Catch-22 situation!

Update: I tried enabling Wordfence to see if I can use one of the other links to unlock all the IP numbers but I cannot even get an e-mail sent to my address now. I had to disable Wordfence again without being able to check any of the settings and disable some.

    Hi @acekin,

Thanks for following up with us, I’m sorry to hear the unlock wasn’t working for you at all!  With Wordfence disabled, please log into the dashboard and install and activate the Wordfence Assistant plugin.  You can find that by searching in Plugins > Add New Plugins or here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordfence-assistant/

In the Wordfence Assistant plugin settings, please use the option “Clear all locked out Wordfence IPs, locked out users and advanced blocks.”? Once done, please rename the wordfence.bak folder back to wordfence to reactivate it, and then refresh the dashboard to ensure your access has been restored.

    Thanks,
    Margaret

That worked! I even logged out and was able to login again with the offending user ID and password.

    Thank you,
