I can install 2.6 but not 2.7

  • I’ve been trying over the past few days to install WP2.7 here at work with no luck – I get the blank page treatment so many people have written about on this forum.

    I have successfully installed 2.7 on on web hosts such as godaddy and fasthosts but here at work there must be some permissions thing or a php problem (I don’t have direct access to the servers).

    So I tried 2.6 and it was fine – installed first time. Tried to upgrade but was faced again by white wall of death.

    Are there any differences in the installation process I need to tell my admins?

    Yes it does and yes I am!

    Still in the same boat, unable to install 2.7 but can install 2.6.

    Are there any differences in requirements between installing 2.6 and 2.7?

    Hmmm – if the database I’m using already has WP2.6 installations pointing it at – would that be a factor? Do I need a fresh database?

    well ive come to the point where i need another installation of WP and nope, a fresh database does not do the trick. i wish someone could come up with a checklist coz there’s enough people getting the dreaded white screen.

    Well I think u have to set permissions on your folders so that it ll work.If u dont mind then I would to work on your project.
