Can you please answer my questions?
I use the free version of Wordfence.
I have a WordPress test site installed on Localhost via Xampp on a PC (c:\xampp\htdocs). Will the scan also be true as on the webhosted server? Can I trust it?
    Thank you for the answer.
    Sincerely, George

Hi @georgebr, thanks for reaching out.

We can’t support/troubleshoot Windows or localhost installations of Wordfence, but if the site can make outbound connections and accept inbound connections from our servers then a scan should work as normal. You’ll likely get scan or rule update errors if there are communication issues in either direction.

As it’s unlikely for the auto_prepend_file location in .htaccess to precisely match between local and live sites, some customers choose to not optimize the firewall or disable Wordfence altogether on development environments. However, that may not be a problem here if you already have a deployment process that takes this into account.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
