I cannot add images, liks or anything media to my posts

  • Hi,

    I have just installed the new version of WP and everything stopped working nicely. I used to use windows but now am working on a Mac; already tried different browsers, cleaned cache and cookies and all that,

    It seems like a javascript error; when i try to upload a picture the button simply does not do anything; when I try to insert a link, the button does not do nothing; I can’t even change the URL of the post…it’s a big mess. Can you help?

    I have run the debugger and the javascript shows many errors, which are:

    Uncaught type error: cannot ready property length of undefined

    Uncaught type error: undefined is not a function

    Uncaught type error: object has no method ‘wpdialog’

  • Is this on a custom theme, free theme or one from a theme store?

    My reasoning for asking is because I had the same issue. After reading several blogs and several of the www.ads-software.com forum post, I determined that there was a function in the custom theme I had created for the client that was having the issue. I removed the function from the function.php file and the upload error went away.

    On a side note, with my issue, files were being uploaded but I was not able to use them in the media uploader for things such as featured images, etc.

    I have the same problem. I’m using the child Responsive Theme (themeId). After the upgrade nothing is working right. I tried deactivating all the plugins and emptying the cache and it still doesn’t work. I tried adding a new page after deactivating all the plugins but the problem is the same. I can’t add any pictures. I also don’t get the toolbars when I do activate the plugins,

    Alan, it is a theme I have downloaded from a site but this does not seem a theme problem. I have been using this theme with no problems before on Windows, it was this Mac switch thing that cause the problems. :S Thanks for your help.
