• I have a 10+ year old site. sbranch.org I started with a wordpress theme that eventually became nonfunctional and I was unable to find any way to get it to work. Accordingly I found another theme somewhere and managed to scrabble together the semblance of a functional site. But I essentially abandoned the wordpress functionality and the site is probably pretty much nonconforming with conventional wordpress specs, whatever those are. For years I received notices to upgrade my version, but those eventually quit coming. My problem now is that I would like to incorporate the ability to let my chess club members upload files to my website, but I cannot even find the old wordpress dashboard anymore to try to install a plugin to do so. Can somebody look at my site and give me any suggestion. Previously the site was accessible at sbranch.org/wordpress but that link no longer allows me to click on site admin to get to the dashboard.

Any sort of guidance would be much appreciated, but I’m 76 years old and mainly I just want to be able to allow my students to upload their chess games to my website because microsoft’s onedrive service is inconvenient for them to use.

https://sbranch.org/home.php is otherwise suitable for my purposes.

sbranch.org/home.php is not a wordpress site.

It appears you already have a plugin for allowing uploads:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/nmedia-user-file-uploader/
    from https://whatwpthemeisthat.com/ + sbranch.org/wordpress

However, I would guess some of your WordPress folders and/or files have become corrupted over the years and you would need to restore them in that existing version and then deactivate all plugins and begin the methodical-incremental update of WordPress to its current version. To test that theory, you might first try replacing just the wp-admin folder with a fresh copy of the older (the site’s current) version. Overall, however, I doubt there is going to be any kind of quick-and-easy solution here for getting to where you would like to be.

You may try to go to the hosting panel and then go to the file manager . Navigate to Public_html/sbranch/wp-content

Try renaming the theme and plugin page to any thing else and then try hitting
    branch.org/wordpress/wp-admin .
if the theme is not suitable it may not support them system

Is https://sbranch.org/wordpress a ‘wordpress site’? If so, is there any way I can get to my dashboard to update wordpress and see if I can make a page where my chess club members can upload text files to me?

How do I navigate to the ‘hosting panel and the file manager’? Also, I have no idea how to navigate to ‘ Navigate to Public_html/sbranch/wp-content’. I have never seen a file or directory called Public_html.

Renaming anything there is a bad idea since you have a working theme in place of the WordPress theme you said had stopped working. Your hosting panel might be called “cPanel”, and your login for that would have come from your host. Going there and using whatever file manager might be available to replace your current wp-admin folder with a fresh copy of the same version already there might get your WordPress login working again, and then you will have to carefully follow the instructions for doing a methodical, incremental update before trying to do anything else.
