• I had the last version of WordPress 3.9.1 installed and after a while I was unable to access the Dashboard.

What I have done until now:
    – renamed every single plugin adding .hold
    – renamed the plugin directory adding .hold
    – switched to default theme
    – reinstalled automatically 3.9.1
    – manually adding the files of a new fresh wordpress installation (without content, of course)
    – and last, I have downgraded to 3.8.3

None of this didn’t fix my issue. Any ideas what can I do more?

  • I’m not sure I follow what’s going on. Are you building/starting a site fresh or was there content that was published and working before your dashboard problems?

If you have switched to a default theme like TwentyFourteen, try undoing all of your renaming of plugins and plugin directory. Deactivate all of the plugins instead of renaming them or their directory.

If you are manually adding WordPress files after upgrading to 3.9.1 and then have downgraded to 3.8.3, it sounds messy. Do you have a database backup from before this problem began and all of your changes were made? Or can you just do a fresh install of WordPress if there was no content before? It’s difficult to figure out what’s going on here.

The site was active for almost an year before facing this issue.

    Tried this also.

    Via phpMyAdmin?

I had 3.9.1 installed and I tried to replace files from a fresh 3.9.1 installation (without content). Didn’t work.

After a few hours, I downgraded to 3.8.3. Still facing the problem.
Don’t know if this should be messy, I don’t consider it so.

I had, but not so recent.
