I can't add a new sub domain

When you deleted the site and (dropped database tables?), you might have forgotten to delete .htaccess file and wp-config.php to start clean from scratch.

Wait, did you delete the subdomain site or the WHOLE install of WordPress? They’re different things ??

I didn’t delete the website from Tools -> delete site, but I deleted it from super admin -> sites, users, domains. And now it want too reconfigure the website using super admin -> sites but it’s giving the message:Missing or invalid site address. Anyone that knows how too solve this?

Mercime, when I delete my .htacces and wp-config.php files. Will these be automatically be generated again? Because I don’t have a backup.

Don’t delete those files! You SHOULD NOT need to uninstall the whole WordPress setup.

What you did was you deleted a SUB Site. VERY important distinction. Which subsite did you delete? You shouldn’t be able to delete the master/main/dashboard one, so I’m assuming you didn’t ??

Are you getting that error just when you go to super admin -> Sites, or just when you try to add one?

And are you adding the SAME name as the one you deleted?

I deleted a sub directory site, the main domain is still standing. I’m getting the error when I try too add the site again that I deleted at admin -> sites, users, domains before.

And yes, i’m trying to add the same name again.

Any ideas?

Problem resolved, the problem was that I entered a / at the end of the entry. :/ Thanks for the support.

How long ago did you delete it? I’m thinking it either didn’t fully delete or there’s a time limit before you can re-create it (*to prevent spammers etc from being dinks).

I’d look in the database and see if it’s still listed there.

Good catch ipstenu. I shouldn’t have presumed that Sjor’s “site” was the network, not the subdomain site based on the question.
