“I only pray that they don’t suddenly decide to make this a “paid” plugin.”
And that pretty much sums up why support for this plugin gets a failing grade.
Almost a week ago I reached out to “Jacob S.” regarding his appeal for a refresh of 5-star reviews. The gist of my email was, FREE begets FREE. It’s just Human nature to expect, well, more FREE! If I hire a concrete guy to build-out a 20×10 foot patio and later ask how much for an additional 5×3 foot area for my really shiny grill, I’m not expecting him to say, “No problem sir, and it’ll be FREE!” In a few hours I’m asking for red brick trim expecting that to be free too! At some point, you gotta ask yourself, “how are they subsidizing all this FREE stuff. Simple math dictates something has to suffer because of it.”
In that same email to Jacob, I asked about the 3 support tickets I submitted months ago. Not days ago, not weeks ago – the last one on April 27! His response; “I will check your support message and follow on this.” I even sent a follow-up request several days ago, and I’m still listening to crickets.
So, praying they don’t suddenly decide to make this a “paid” plugin is exactly why…
- Support lags so far behind what is a reasonable wait time.
- Support suggest users visit a closed system, Facebook, for community support. How many of you tried community support for a JavaScript error likely caused by a plugin conflict or a how-to for custom CSS inside your functions.php or HTML to build a ‘sticky’ header/footer with a non-LC theme?
- Updates don’t occur on a bi-monthly basis as originally promised. The “twice a month” claim has since been changed to “released regularly” almost immediately after this support for 5-star scandal. “Released regularly” is surely ambiguous enough to keep everyone honest.
You just have to ask yourself why fee-based competitors, such as Soflyy’s excellent site builder Oxygen, and page builders like Beaver Builder and Elementor are pushing a million active installs while free-based LC is barely squeaking by at 40k.
And before someone throws cost into this equation, I can attest to all their support being stellar with response times at hours, sometimes within 1 business day. Certainly never at months.
