I can’t change my theme.

  • I have been trying to install a new theme in my blog, and always I have this message:

    Broken Themes
    The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description
    Stylesheet is missing.
    ___________________________
    The result is the same even if I change to a different theme.
    Please give some ideas.

  • 1) Check the file permissions/properties on the server.
    If new theme is the name of your new theme, then
    Both the wp-content/themes and wp-content/themes/new theme directories should be at least 755.

    2) Check wp-content/themes/new theme to make sure the stye.css file is there
    3) Check wp-content/themes/new theme to make sure the index.php file is there
