So I installed the plugin and started winding my way through all of the screens, filling out all of the info and checking and verifying my pages intermittently, to see what was going on …

I started to get excited – it did seem a little bit bloated I thought, but look at how many things it was accomplishing at the same time! Facebook (yea I never use it but it’s good to have right?) (Twitter cards – oooh maybe I can find something to do with that, though I rarely have time to spend on Twitter) – (Hmm, Google Plus, I already don’t want them all up in my business but I DO appreciate all of the effort that went into this plugin, I really do) –

But what I really want is an OG that works for Pinterest – and that’s all – and it does that – soooo I was getting impressed – and then, thud….

My meta descriptions are removed – those little things that Google likes to provide as a description for my posts and pages? The meat and potatoes of my SEO? Yeah, and I have to upgrade to get them back?!

I was already almost at the point of rushing off to go pay for the upgrade – until I realized I was going be blackmailed to get back ? what I shouldn’t have lost in the first place.

    So umm how bout no.

I don’t find that a good business practice guys – It’s bloated – and you want to blackmail me to pay for the upgrade? AND the upgrade is pretty costly. Seems to me you could make much more, without the blackmail and charging less. Only the naive would pay for you to do this.

You seem to be working off some false assumptions there…

The plugin does not ‘remove’ anything. The free version offers a full set of Open Graph meta tags, which are used by Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, etc.

I’ve no idea what you mean by removing the meta descriptions. If an SEO plugin is not present, NGFB Open Graph+ will add a meta description tag. If an SEO plugin is present, then it lets the SEO plugin do its job and does NOT add a second/duplicate meta description tag.

Your tone is really offensive – there’s no ‘blackmail’ of anything. The free version is fully functional and provides features way beyond others in the same category. The Pro version offers Twitter Cards and integration with 3rd party plugins. And bloated? Please. Have you ran performance metrics on NGFB Open Graph+? It’s much faster than most plugins in its class.

Please uninstall NGFB Open Graph+ and choose another plugin. I’d rather not support a user which such an aggressive and non-constructive approach.

    Thanks,

    js.

No no no nooooo …. You’re funny, though I’m sure that’s just your night job.

If you have no idea but then you should check your verbiage in the offer to upgrade because IT KNOWS – since those meta descriptions are offered with the paid version – the part that turned me away from reaching into my wallet – as I was about to, because I HAD THEM – then quickly realized they were GONE after I set the plugin up. I’m not repeating myself, read the paragraph over again. Maybe you missed something.

You certainly do not need to tell me what to uninstall – as if my previous comments didn’t spell that out loud and clear – I did and also found a much better plugin, that’s MUCH cleaner, far more configurable, with enormously rich SEO built into it, over a million downloads and free too!

You certainly worked hard, have the makings of a potentially good plugin but your business acumen leaves a lot to be desired and your plan for profit is underhanded.

Annnnd – you sure didn’t need to tell me what you won’t support or why JS (is everyone listening? You’d better pucker up if you want support) but it was entertaining to read. ツ

The plugin does not disable any existing features — if it does, then you might want to look at a possible bug in the plugin providing those features.

The Pro version allows excluding certain meta tags NGFB Open Graph+ provides, to make sure there are no possible conflicts. For example, if your theme generates og:image related tags, you could tell NGFB Open Graph+ not to provide those.

The Free (GPL) version does not disable anything, nor is there any need to upgrade to the Pro version for any Open Graph related features.

You are free to believe what you like, of course — and it appears you are holding on tightly to your misconceptions. I would have suggested you seek support for your issue instead of launching an unfounded attack, but that was a decision for you to make at an earlier time.

Hopefully you’ll find satisfaction in this other plugin.

Moderators: If you were to remove this thread, I would not be opposed — I don’t see much value in it.

    Thanks,

    In the UPGRADE version:

NGFB Open Graph+ adds HTML meta tags to the head section of WordPress webpages for improved Google Search results …

    Under Summary of Features:

    Complete Meta Tags

NGFB Open Graph+ adds Open Graph (Facebook), Pinterest Rich Pins, Twitter Cards, and (optionally) Search Engine Optimization meta tags to the head section of webpages. These meta tags are used by Google Search and most Social Websites to describe and display your content correctly (title, description, keyword tags, images, videos, product, author profile / authorship, publisher, etc.). See a few examples from Google Search / Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, and others….

I had no conflicts – I HAD my meta’s – all along – UNTIL I installed this plugin – then I had a holy mess in my headers and more importantly the meta descriptions were GONE – and IN THE DOCUMENTATION OF THE UPGRADE – it goes on to explain as per the aforementioned examples – about the VERY IMPORTANT Meta Tags, that are used by Google Search.

I’m done with this – I tried to speak with you many months ago and it was a waste of time then – and it is now. I’m over it.

PS: Search engines don’t account for key words anymore – that’s misinformation…

As I said earlier, NGFB Open Graph+ does not remove any existing meta tags. Period.

Thank you for choosing another plugin.

You’re wrong. It does, so it can try to charge you to have them.

Good thing you didn’t get the Pro version — your reaction might have been even more entertaining to read. ??

I wouldn’t give you 2 cents for it after all of this.

Anyone that knows anything about code can look at the headers to see the hot mess that this thing is.

Hope the Pro version is the Big $Maker you intended for it to be after all of your hard work and attention!

    Have a good one! ツ

I am having a problem with the meta tags showing up, also. I have used this plugin in the past and it worked great. I just started posting on my site again. It does not seem to be working the way that it used to.

For one I am getting all kinds of NGFB Warnings: For example:

NGFB Warnings:A Facebook / Open Graph image meta tag for this webpage could not be generated. Facebook and other social websites require at least one image meta tag to render their shared content correctly.

Also, My posts no longer auto publishes to Facebook.

And, as I said before. When I copy and paste my URL to my Facebook page No feature image appears and only the post title appears with no Meta Description.

If I were to $45.00 for the single license what do I get in return?

Do you have screenshots, instructions, and/or video to show what you get.

Like, I said this plugin worked like a charm in the past. But, now it seems like a lot of work getting it to work, now. I have spent hours trying to find solutions to all of the glitches. Only to come to realize that the only way to fix them is to upgrade for $44.95. And, I am still not sure if that would be the answer.

Please open a new thread in the NGFB support forum. As indicated in the sticky posts for that forum, please include a URL to an example post/page, and describe the issue on that specific post/page.

    Thank you,

    js.
