I can't do changes in website (custom pages)

    I would be so grateful if someone could explain a couple of things for me, I thought I was “good” at all of this but now I am realizing that there is so much more to learn!

    My questions:

    I am trying to change a couple of things in my theme. I have some examples of things I simply can’t comprehend:

    How to allocate custom pages?
    I can find certain coding in certain .php folders – but when I make changes to them nothing changes on the website.

    Change display of the front page
    This includes deleting the appearance of “Latest Projects” (a similar things to that of “recent posts” etc)

    There is nothing showing under the titles in “Pages” of the wordpress dashboard and when I allocate the files such as “home.php” I can see that it is the same codes as if I right-click on my homepage and get the “Inspect Element” under Developer Tools (you know what I am talking about right…?)

    But lets say I delete the coding for the “Latest Posts” in home.php – I even tried to delete the whole content of the home.php – then NOTHING changes on the homepage.

    I also want to
    Change which page should be the front page
    (no it doesn’t work by changing the menu, as “Home” is not even in the menu option and the page that I want, that is shown in the menu on the website, is not shown in the menu in dashboard)

    Change sidebar
    One of my pages has a wonderful sidebar that I would like to put on the front page. But the “widgets” can only be put to the front page, and nothing inside the sidebar showing in the page can be put into the front page.

    How do you change the TEXT of an already styled button?

    I don’t understand anything about this theme! I usually just allocate the right file and make changes to it, but this one is not responding to anything I do… PLEASE help, I would be SO grateful.

    Ok so I realized I might have gone overboard with my many questions. The whole subject is actually about how I can change my website through .php files and make actual changes to the appearance?

    So I can focus on these questions :

    How to allocate the right custom pages and how to make changes in them?

    If you modify theme files, your changes will all be lost when the theme is updated.

    And have you asked the developers of the theme about these questions – they’ll be the best ones to help you as these forums don’t have access to commercial themes and thus really have no way to help.
