• I added a plugin called Smart Slideshow Widget. After I activated, I could no longer move or drag my widgets. I could, however, delete widgets, but I can’t put them back.

I checked this topic on many forums. I tried deleting all my plugins, but that made no difference. I’ve checked the site on both IE9 and Firfox10.0.1. No difference.

I don’t know which version of WordPress I’m on but it’s not the latest. I’m reluctant to update because I’ve lost my phpmyadmin login. I need to backup my database before I update to 3.3.1.

So I guess that’s two problems, but if you could help with the first I could deal with the second later.

  • Contact your hosting service support to recover your phpMyAdmin login. You should also get an ftp account set up. Using both those tools, you should be able to back up your site.

Your version of WP should be shown in the Dashboard. If you have an ‘Updates’ selection under ‘Dashboard’, you could try going there and re-installing WP after you back up.

I’m having this issue as well. I’ve disabled all plugins and reinstalled the latest WP update and I still am not able to move widgets from the Available Widgets to any of the locations like sidebar, showcase, feature, etc.

Have no idea what the issue is.
