Hi, I’m having problems trying to change the phone field from optional to mandatory on the “Checkout” page of my WordPress. I have Woocommerce installed with the Redsys payment gateway.

Additionally, I have the plugins installed; Max Quantity For WC Shops, Potent Donations for WooCommerce and Variation Swatches for WooCommerce.

I install Flexible Checkout Fields type plugins and the fields that appear in the editing table are not the same as the ones I see on the “Checkout” page. The telephone number appears as mandatory and I have it as optional and I cannot modify it. Also, I have tried to make the change with a hook through the functions.php file and it doesn’t listen to me either. I’m starting to think it’s because of the latest version of Woocommerce but I’m not sure.

The payment gateway is already in production, so I would appreciate if you do not make payments by card or bizum for testing, I have left the cash on delivery option active for this. In any case, I prefer not to show the url and rather pass it privately, to avoid possible problems.

It would also help if it appeared above in “Contact Information” along with the email, but it was mandatory.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello, the solution I found was to create a new Checkout or Complete Purchase page and put the Woocommerce shortcode, and then mark it as the checkout page in the Woocommerce options.

The shortcode returns the real Woocommerce form and you can now use hooks and plugins to modify the fields.

Thank you very much, I am closing the post because I no longer have the problem, although it is strange that by default the real Woocommerce fields do not appear on the Checkout page.
