Greetings,

I’m testing your plugin and so far it’s doing very well. But today I realized a small issue. I have a network site with a main website and 2 subdomains.

I have a multi site installation and I did a network installation/activation of SlimSEO, and I can find the sitemaps in the main site and one subdomain, but when I try to find it in the second subdomain I’m just shown the home page.

The main page is https://jmarcano.com/
This subdomain does show the sitemap https://tierra.jmarcano.com/
This is the one that won’t show the site map https://ecohis.jmarcano.com/

I tried with the troubleshooting option in the plugin’s page in wordpress, and still the same result. I deactivated, also, other plugins, including a redirection one, and same.

Any idea?

I think I found it. For this particular website, the sitemap is in https://ecohis.jmarcano.com/sitemap-post-type-page.xml

not in https://ecohis.jmarcano.com/sitemap.xml

robots.txt says the wrong address

Does it matter?

Hi @emarcano ,

The link https://ecohis.jmarcano.com/sitemap.xml is the correct sitemap. It’s actually the sitemap index where it lists all sitemaps available on your site. In this case, it lists only post type “page” sitemap, which is correct. So both URLs work.

If you have more post types or taxonomies in the site, the sitemap index will list them all. So it’s safe to use the sitemap.xml instead of the specific sitemap.

well, that’s embarrassing. Somehow, when I wrote the question, https://ecohis.jmarcano.com/sitemap.xml wasn’t showing up, it was taking me to the home page instead. Now it’s showing up. Maybe it was a glitch on the server.

Which link should I provide to the search engines? https://ecohis.jmarcano.com/sitemap.xml or https://ecohis.jmarcano.com/sitemap-post-type-page.xml

Hi Eugenio,

Using the sitemap.xml is the recommended. It’s safe and if there’s any updates in the future, this link will never change.
