I can't get this to work

Hi, I just installed it, and it let me create a link and attach it to an image, but then I could not modify it- the edit button on the Link Manager page just linked to the same Link Manager page- it didn’t open up the details for that link.
Either way, the link I added didn’t do anything in my post where the image is. It’s a valid link, but the featured image in the post is not clickable. It’s as if nothing was added to the image.
Also, why not put the Link Manager in the WP admin menu? I’ve never encountered a plugin before where you just have to remember the url to get to it. They all have accessibility either through Settings or as an added object with icon in the left menu bar of the Admin.
