    Hi,
I’m trying to import data to Yoast from All in One SEO Pack but something doesn’t work. The import tools seems to import only the snippet title but not meta description and keyphrase. What can I do? Thanks.

Can you please confirm that you are importing from the most current version of All in One SEO Pack (version 3.3.4) and that you are using the most recent Yoast v12.9.1? You can learn more about updating here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.3.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

If you have already confirmed that All in One SEO, Yoast SEO, and WordPress are up to date and the issue is still occurring, we would next recommend performing a conflict check to determine whether another plugin or theme is interfering with the Yoast plugin importing the data. We have a guide on checking for conflicts here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/

I installed All in One SEO and added a custom title and description to a post. Then imported into Yoast and the custom title and description were imported successfully. Are you using a specific setting for the description, perhaps something that creates them automatically? If so, what options are you using in All in One?

As for keyphrase, are you referring to their ‘meta’ keyword option? If so, the meta keywords feature was removed in Yoast SEO v6.3 and, as such, would not be imported since we no longer have that feature. The Yoast SEO focus keyphrase is used by the content analysis feature to provide feedback on how to improve the content and is specifically not the same as the meta keywords that appear in the source code.

Hi @amboutwe, thanks for explaining that. I have just another issue.
If no meta description is provided, AioSP uses an excerpt of the post. This is not imported by Yoast. Do you think it’s possible to obtain something like this with Yoast as result of an import or via settings?

Yoast SEO includes title templates with the option of adding a description template using template variables. Learn more here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-modify-default-snippet-templates-in-yoast-seo/

The template variable %%excerpt%% will be replaced with the post/page excerpt or auto-generated if an excerpt does not exist. See the list of available variables here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/list-available-snippet-variables-yoast-seo/
