• Hi,

I read through the codex for the issue I’m having, and it seems I should disable plugins to see if one of them is causing my WordPress account to lock me out. However, this is a catch-22, considering I can’t deactivate anything if I can’t log in!

This is a new website with only one user. I have tried logging in using both the email address and the username (admin).

I have no idea what version I am using or how to find out without being logged in. The website it here: https://www.watt-bros.com

Any help, in laymans terms, would be appreciated! I don’t speak code and this is my very first website build…so dumb it down for me, please!!

You do not need to log in!!

    Follow these instructions:
    – If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
    – If that does not help, try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins). If you don’t have access to your admin area, use FTP , or your web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides (no Dashboard access required). Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder by adding “-old” to the end of the folder name. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.

I’ve been did your instruction,it works. But, the dashboard still goes too slowly. when I log out the dashboard and then try to log in again, the problem still the same, it’s just loading and I cannot enter my dashboard.
