i can’t open /wp-admin/install.php

Are you getting any error messages or a 404?
What is the link structure to your install?

I just tried to open install.php and Macromedia dreamweaver opened it and I have not a clue what to do. Thte readme file is no help.

EDIT: replace example.com with your domain name.

For some reason, even though I made sure *.php default to IE, it still won’t open the file. IT only shows me the directory.

Contact your host, sounds like somethings wrong with your server config.

I don’t know what it was, so I did go to my host, Globat. WordPress is their default blog software, so I let their automated setup do its thing and I am up and running.
