I can’t search for plugins anymore
-
On my plugins dashboard, there used to be a search bar to quickly find and directly install plugins but now that search bar has been missing for months.

Hi Stephen, thanks for the response. The option to Add new isn’t available even on the sidebar.

I just realized that I don’t have the option to delete plugins either, only to activate or deactivate.
Are you using a multisite setup? That option is only available to the super-admin.
I don’t think so, it’s being hosted through Siteground under one site but in any case, the Add button used to be there and now it isn’t, probably the same situation for the delete button.
Are you sure you’re logged in as an administrator?
A troubleshooting procedure: This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for JUST you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time. See https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/ or https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/ for more information.
See https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/
How do you check administrator status? I think I deleted some irrelevant users last year, but I’ve been logged in as myself since the beginning so I don’t see how I would have lost access by that.
I forgot to mention that I’ve deactivated every plugin and switched themes. I can go to alternative plugin search page but I can’t “install” plugins so Health Check isn’t going to work at the moment.
I found where I can confirm that I AM an admin.
Please post the output of the “info” tab from Site Health. Use the “copy” button to grab it all.

I connected with my site host and they recognized that putting a “#” in front of “define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_MODS’, true);” in my site files would fix it. It’s now fixed!
