I can’t see HTML codes in post

    Hi everyone. I just installed wordpress again on my domain, installed also a new theme & updated everything.
    I just discovered the problem a few minutes ago, when I tried to post something and spaces didn’t work on Preview. Diddn’t know what’s the problem and I normally switched from Visual to Html in order to see what’s wrong. But on HTML … surprise ! There’s no code over there.. the text is exactly the same like in visual. What can be done ? What’s the problem ?

  • Your URL is in the image.. ?? Incase you were trying to avoid posting it (no problem with that).

    As i’m sure you’ve seen suggested many a time, …. *drum roll* …

    Have you tried deactivating plugins to see if this helps?

    Have you tried under a different theme to see if this helps?
    —–
    Did you perform any upgrades or installations (plugins, themes) or make any custom modifications just prior to said problem.

    It’s not about the url.. I saved it as a draft.. url doesn’t matter in this case. What really matters is the fact that spaces aren’t working and I cannot see any html codes when I switch to html.

    I deactivated all plugins, I changed the theme… and nothing. It’s the same.

    New suggestions ?

    Can you think of anything that’s been changed just prior to the problem?

    No problem understanding the issue, but at this point i could only guess at the cause.

    Do pages have the same problem?

    Yes, the pages have the same problem.
    I created a new blog on a subdomain and it has the same problem.. don’t know what’s the cause.
    I added a new post and hit space many times in order to leave big spaces between lines, I updated the post and after I saw that the spaces weren’t there anymore.. So if I hit ipdate it updates the lines.. meaning what I write there, but not the spaces.

    If you mean additional spaces(more then one), that’s normal behaviour, for additional spaces, you need to use an entity equivalent..

    So..

    Hello   World

    Would actually have 3 spaces, a single allowed space, followed by an entity, followed by an additional allowed single space..

    You just can’t have consecutive spaces..

    It’s the wordpress version. 2.9.1 has a bug… or so it seems. Look.. I installed a new wordpress on a new folder and stayed at that oldest version and it’s ok.

    See ? Spaces are working between Halla and the rest of the text. Also in the end on Regards.

    There’s only single spaces on that page, the reason it looks like there is more is because the element has it’s alignment set to “justify”..

    Oh my… you’re the man. It was about that justify option. I activated it using Alt + Shift + j. I can call this a fucky problem… heh.
