I cant see or edit my home page (index)

  • Help please
    im a newbie to the amazing world of word press, i started building my new site and all was going well untill i realised that what i thought was my home page i was editing wasnt
    im now in a position where i cannot see or edit my index page nor do i have any visible direction to get to it. can anyone help please

    to be honest i really dont know lol this has driven me crazy

    In the WordPress admin, under Settings > Reading, what is defined for “Front page displays”? If it’s set to “Your latest posts”, then the index.php page is probably the template file you want to make edits to. If it’s set to a static page, then there’s a template file in your theme probably labeled something like Homepage where you need to make edits to it.
