I can’t setup a datastream between my Google account (Analytics) and my website

  • I have a really bad time setting up Google Analytics for my site. First I tried to copy paste the tag in the php code manually, but that didn’t work. Than I tried it with the Site Kit plugin. In the Site Kit settings I see there is a connection and it also shows me the property data, but I can’t find that connection in my Google account. I also can’t see any data in my Site Kit dashbord. When I create a datastream via my Google account I get the error “Can’t find any data streams. Please set up a stream to start collecting data in this property“. Please help me

    @qwerty789 Thanks for sharing the information. Unfortunately, the website URL you have sent me does not work and is not a live website. Because of this I am unable to check your setup to see if I can find anything that might be causing you issues with your Analytics.

    Could you please share the website URL here or via the private form again and I can happily check this for you.

    @qwerty789 I can now see the website and it is working for me so it must have been a temporary issue. From checking your site source code it looks correct. I can see Site Kit placing the necessary code for Analytics. I can also see your Analytics tag firing when checking your site with https://tagassistant.google.com/.

    Are you still not seeing any data in your Site Kit dashboard? If not, please could you share some screesnhots of what you do see in the dashboard?

    Hi Adam,

    I think (I hope) it’s working. I changed the theme I used. I think the problem was maybe in the theme I used

    Indeed I now see data in my dashboard and also in my Google Analytics account

    Thanks for checking my website.
