I changed all references from https:// to https:// and ran into an issue.

After doing this, all of the icons (under the Media section) were no longer being displayed. They all appeared broken. Also, when I tried to go to the URL for each image (in the Media section) which are stored in the wp-content\uploads section of my site, no longer were accessible. All images were displaying a 404 error. The images were there, but they weren’t able to come up.

Can anyone explain why simply changing “all” instances (in the database) from https:// to https:// could cause this?

Please let me know if when I did a find and replace for this, everywhere, might have caused the issue. When I restored the website to a prior version, before the database change was made, everything came back properly.
