• What happened was I was trying to delete some duplicate files i ftp’d to the root directory. I tried installing word press myself not knowing I could do it 1,2,3 with my web host. Hence, duplicate install files.

I accidentally deleted from within the root directory … where the properly installed wordpress files were. I deleted files like wp-app and all those loose files not in a wp folder.

THEN I tried to re-ftp the missing files into the correct directory.

now I go to my admin site and it comes up blank

Have I screwed up so bad that I have to reinstall everything a go from scratch? What do I do?

The first thing to do would be to just re-FTP WordPress, but not wp-content. Overwrite everything else.

Okay NOW the problem is this.

    i re-ftp’d everything

but when I changed the options in the admin panel to put my blog in the root directory I get a screwed up looking blog AND admin panel

    what’s up with that?

Can you be more specific than “screwed up looking”?
