So there are a couple of reasons that might be the cause of the 500 errors:

1. You don’t have permalinks enabled.

2. You’ve added Buddy Press’ own menu items to your WordPress custom menu, which isn’t supported. You can read more about this here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/make-sure-to-only-add-pages-to-the-custom-menu/
