My understanding: I paste a short piece of code before the text I want to hide, and paste another piece of code at the end of that same text – the text I want to hide. Right?
My experience: I’m using a WP text box and I paste the code from this forum as above. ‘Show more’ and ‘show less’ appear before the text, then the text is displayed as normal – i.e. unhidden – then Show more and show less appear at the end. I’ve tried this in the ‘Visual’ and ‘Text’ options in the ‘Text Editor settings box’ – same result.
Not what I want. I want to hide the text. An example or two would be helpful but I can’t seem to find them anywhere. For example: Does the code have to appear inline with the paragraph needing to be hidden or above/below the paragraph? (FTR – neither works)

It seems that it doesn’t work when a page editor is open – in my case Beaver Builder. Once editing is finished and the changes saved it shows the changes on the live page. Apologies to anyone who read my my first post.

    Thank you for your explanations.

I do not know why it does not work with some themes. Perhaps it is because, before the latest version 1.0.7 no shortcodes were possible.
