I don’t know – Well, now I know!

    Rated 5 stars as the plugin proves to be reliable and functional.
    My personal favorite feature of this plugin is the possibility of sending/displaying the notification to the user who was warned or banned.

    Tho I don’t want to diminish the efforts of the developer in coding and developing this plugin by rating 1 star I will rate 3 stars.
    Because, the plugin doesn’t seam to work properly as the provided shortcodes are not functional.
    The idea and the concept of the plugin are awesome as far as functionality (in theory) but in “practice” they don’t work.
    Maybe next time, when the developer will make a plugin which actually works I will rate 5 stars.

    Hello Dan,

    Thanks for your message, perhaps you could expand on in “practice they don’t work”, as that doesn’t really give me much to go on… and of course I’d prefer to fix any issues/bugs instead of leaving something broken because the feedback was so vague. As far as making a plugin that actually works, I don’t find those remarks very productive. Especially as I offer this for FREE.

    Hi Matt,
    Indeed my “feedback” is vague as I don’t have the necessary experience to debug a non working function of the plugin.
    If added on a page, the shortcode(s) (none of them) is not displayed, no field , no prompt info no nothing… as if the page is simply blank… I don’t know how to describe it better than “not working” .
    As I’ve mentioned before I do believe it is an awesome plugin based on the functions and options showed on settings page after install.
    I will find time and reinstall/reactivate the plugin and test it limited by my knowledge (using dev console, possible conflicts with other plugins) and get back to you.
    I want this plugin to work because I’ve already tried others and I was disappointed.

    Hello Dan,

    Perhaps if you explain what you’re trying to use the ‘shortcodes’ for and I’ll hopefully be able to help either explain how to use them, or identify what’s gone wrong. The shortcodes were added mainly for developers, so you shouldn’t really need them unless you have a particular custom setup.

    So, they are not to be used on front end?
    Maybe here’s the confusion from my behalf as I thought that i can use a shortcode in a page and it will render a field where the user should type their username or email and see if they are banned/restricted.
    My idea was to use the option to force log out (if user is banned but logged in) and redirect to a page which contains the shortcode (the functionality mentioned above)

    I did install the plugin on another WordPress blog and it looks a bit different.
    On the first WordPress website (A) in the settings page after accessing the Email tab, there was no content below.
    On the second WordPress website (B) same steps but Email settings (templates) are showed and settings can be made. So I assume this is a theme compatibility…
    Yes, I might change my mind and rate 5 stars
    PS: no console errors to mention

    HI Dan,

    I think we’re getting to the source of the problem (I need to update my documentation!). The plugin itself works from the default wordpress login page or the buddy press login page. If the user has been banned then they will be prevented from logging in. Within the settings page for the plugin you have the option of enabling redirects and messages which I think is what you’re trying to achieve. I don’t think you need the functionality of the shortcodes, as they simply allow developers to extend development of their website. I’m going to update the plugin and the documentation to make this much clearer.

    The plugin also allows you to force a user to logout (and be redirected with a message) if you ban them whilst they are logged in. Take a look through the settings and let me know if you need any further help, or spot anything that needs amending. Thanks for your valuable feedback.

    On the platform which I had issues is a developed theme not available online, so don’t worry about this
    Second theme which seams to be working fine in terms of compatibility is installed from WordPress – Elite Masters
