I don’t know what i have done, please help

  • I can’t log into WordPress anymore and seem to have broken my website, I can access the homepage but can’t go any further than that.

    Here is an overview of what happened, I had a company that was dealing with our website for us and we parted ways, I was nominated as an admin and given access to WordPress for my website. I had noticed that the phone number on the website was incorrect, so I changed this with no problems.

    I have never used any website software, so I really have no idea what I am doing and was going in with my eyes shut and trying to find my way around.

    One of our customers called to say they could not access the website when they put www. at that start, I logged into WordPress and tried to add in www. at the start of the website and then it booted me out of WordPress, and I couldn’t log in and now the website doesn’t seem to be working correctly.

    I have tried to log into WordPress and it wouldn’t let me do this, it kept asking me to create a new account, when I tried to create a new account it said my account already existed and that I should log in however when I tried to log in it kept going to a blank page.

    Today I finally managed to create an account, but I don’t know how to get access back to my website? I really need to get access to this so that I can then get another company to help me with the improvement and show me how to use the website correctly to prevent this happening in future, I really don’t want to have to start from scratch again and this has got me very stressed out

  • I have just tried to click on the link, the ip adress is invalid. Did you directly copy the link from the website?

    The website was https://solardynamixuk.co.uk and I tried to change it to https://www.solardynamixuk.co.uk

    I can’t log into WordPress anymore to edit the site as when I try to log in it automatically redirects me to the https://www.solardynamixuk.co.uk which is invalid

    You do not have an A record (or a CNAME) for WWW in your site’s DNS:

    Your DNS is hosted at “domaindiscount24.net”. Login to your domain registration account (not WordPress) and add a CNAME record for WWW pointing to the domain name or add an A record for WWW pointing to your domain’s IP address.

    Thank you so much for your help, I have done this, I’m assuming there can be up to a 48 hour wait for this change to take affect?
