I don’t know who is hosting an “inherited” site.
-
This sounds crazy, I know. I have inherited the care and maintenance of a church parish website in WordPress; this site has been much neglected and spottily maintained by a dozen different people over the last years, and seems to have changed hosts as well.
Last night I was asked to help with a WSOD problem – both admin page and the site itself. I was told that the site was hosted by GoDaddy and was given login credentials. When I went to the file manager, there was a similar site there (new.stsaviours.me), but it had not been touched in six months. I could not find any record of stsaviours.me.
All I can figure is that the site is being hosted somewhere else, maybe on the personal server of some former webmaster, and that the church has been paying GoDaddy to host this phantom “new” site.
My question: Is there a way to find out where a WordPress site is actually hosted? I don’t have access to admin page or files: just the website name and a login.
