So… I think I figured this out. I am now able to see when people add things to their carts.
First off, I disabled my 3rd party google analytics plugin I used to use (because when you check “Add tracking code to your site. You don’t need to enable this if using a 3rd party analytics plugin.” it does the same thing)
So, in WooCommerce –> Settings –> Integration –> Google Analytics
I have my UA-ID filled in, then I have all three checks marked.
Now, here’s the part I felt nobody explained:
To see “Add to Cart” Actions in Google Analytics, you have to go under the “Behavior” section, then go to “Events”, then you can look at “overview” or “Top Events”
-I usually look at “Top Events”
-Make sure you have the Date Period you want in the upper right.
-If you look at “Event Action” it will show you how many “Add to Cart” actions have happened.
-If you look at “Even Label” it will tell you what the SKU from Woocommerce was.
This way, I can tell if there were some products added to someone’s cart that didn’t get bought that day, by cross-referencing with that day’s sales. Then I will ask myself: Why didn’t they buy it? Investigate…
