• Hello, I see there is an option to add more occurrences of an event with the ‘add another occurrence’ button, but when I enter new dates here, it edits the main date instead. so I just end up with multiples of the same event on the same day. my occurrences are not a pattern, so cannot use the repeat occurrence option. I don’t see any instructions for this section on your document website. please can you help? I am using version 3.2.8 of the mycalendar plugin.

    thanks

That sounds pretty odd. I just tested the feature to verify that I didn’t break anything recently, but it seems to work as expected for me.

When creating a new event, if you click on ‘Add Occurrence’, it creates a duplicate set of fields to the first set of dates entered. You can then edit those to use the dates & times you actually want, without changing the first set of dates.

When you save, it will create unique events for each set of dates. They’ll have the same titles, descriptions, categories, etc., but different dates. They can then be edited separately if you want to make further changes.

If that’s not what you’re finding, please confirm.

If you’re adding additional dates to an already saved event, that’s a different process; ‘add new occurrence’ is not available in existing events.

    Hi Joe

The way you have instructed is how I was doing it. However this morning I have discovered that it is only a problem if I use the calendar popup to set the dates. If I type the date I want into the occurrence fields then it works fine. So this is how I will do it for now.

I would show you a video or screenshot of it, but no option for attachments here…

Also, how would I then add another event to a set of events I already created please? the edit group doesn’t seem to let me add more dates to it.

Yes, the pop-up date selector doesn’t change anything except the first event.

If you have an existing event, I’d suggest you use the ‘copy’ feature to create a duplicate, then you can edit the date of the event and add additional occurrences.
