I download a theme, but how do I install in and get it to work

  • I downloaded a theme, but when i download it, it comes up as a white box with a whole bunch of stuff i dont know, how to i get the theme to change and work.

    Easiest as possible.

  • How did you download it? Via ftp or your wordpress dashboard?

    Make sure it’s in the wp-content/themes folder. The best way is to just install them from the built in theme installer, but you can upload them via ftp too. What theme is it?

    I Just downloaded it, and I think it came up as a zip File on my hard drive.

    Im so confused… Where is the wp-content/themes folder..

    what version of wordpress are you using? (it’s usually on your dash board)

    In your WP blog on the left it should say Appearance, click Appearance > Themes
    There will be 2 tab at the top of the page (if you are using the current version of WP) Click Install Theme.

    If the theme is on your hard drive click ‘Upload’ click Browse, then poke around your hard drive until you find it. Click on it, click open, click install now, click Activate.

    upload to theme folder in wp-content folder.
    activate the theme from the dashboard.
