I had created a few “Pages” and they all disappeared….
-
I had created two pages on my WordPress installation. One was for links to YouTube videos. I linked 9 YouTube Videos in the page and formatted the code so everything looked just right. In formatting, all I had done was place the objects in tables so that they would be left-aligned.
I had viewed the site several times while doing this formatting and had no problems. Then, it seems as if the site knew I was satisfied because when I was done, I clicked View Site and all of my “pages” were now missing from the Sidebar.
I tried creating a page with the same name as one of my pages, in hopes that I would at least see a “page exists” error, reassuring me that the data was not lost. No error, and the new page did not appear in my side bar.
I’m not sure where this data would be in the mySQL database but I did not finding anything right away.
I created a page with a new, unique name. The “pages” section of the sidebar reappeared with only that page name in it. The link pointed to ?page_id=32. I changed it to 31 and found a blank page with the name of the missing page. I’m guessing this was created when I tried to recreate the page after it first disappeared.
I checked 1-30 and found no pages. The other page that had been created to begin with seems to be gone, along with all the data that was on the now-blank page.
$&^*@!
Any ideas what happened ?
