• I am long time WordPress user (early 2005). But now I am noticing that the Block Themes become a trend. And I hate them. It must be me and a few others I know. We don’t understand the Block Themes.

I was able to fix almost everything, always. Got my hands dirty with PHP and CSS. But with Block Themes I now longer have a clue where to click to select stuff. Maybe it is the Guthenberg editor which is causing this behaviour because that editor is used to control Block Themes, right?

I know a few people who hate them too. I am guessing there are many of them. Running a blog should not be hard. Why did WordPress make it harder? Changing a Menu shouldn’t be so hard.

Yes, I tried to learn it but gave up. If this is the way to go, WordPress is not for me. Thankfully I can export it and take it anywhere. But I do hope WordPress does reconsider Guthenberg and Block Themes because it is not at all user friendly. It’s hell.

  • The world is changing. None of them came to a halt in the same spot. Everything is upgrading and modernizing their systems. I realize you’ve been a WordPress user since 2005, but you’re having trouble adjusting to the current trend of Block Themes and the Gutenberg editor. It’s true that the introduction of Block Themes and the Gutenberg editor was a step toward offering greater freedom and alternatives for website design.

If you don’t like the new features. You can stick with the Classic Theme, Classic Editor as well as Classic Widgets.
