• Hello, In doing some site health checks I see that I have 2 versions of the OceanWP theme, 3.4.1 and 3.5.9, is it ok for me to delete the older version?

I also have 2 versions of my Child OceanWP theme, sadly both of these are v 1.0 so, if you say it’s ok to delete one of these also, how do I pick which one to delete? Thanks in advance

  • Hello @windspeed,

    Thank you for reaching out,

All records of the theme updates will saved in WordPress and we’ve never released a version higher than the current version: https://postimg.cc/gnr0KZNK
    https://themes.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/oceanwp
    https://www.ads-software.com/themes/oceanwp/#:~:text=Version,3.5.9

And we can’t say definitely what is happening on your website. Still, perhaps you increased the theme version manually or maybe you had some customization in the parent theme(not the child theme) and changed the version of the theme to avoid getting the update, so you must check for any customizations on your website. If you have any, move them to the child theme.

If you have 2 child themes, you must check them and determine which one has customizations. If you have made any customizations in one of them, so keep that one.

If you don’t have any custom code in the parent theme or child theme, you can delete the extra ones. For more information about the child theme, please follow this link: https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/90-sample-child-theme

Before deleting the extra theme, ensure that you get a full backup of your website.

    I hope it helps.
    Best Regards
