• I was working on a blog on a different server than mine.

I upgraded from version 2.6 to the newest version of the software.

I upgraded a few of the plugins which included audit trail and BM Custom login.

I tried to use audit trail and it would not work and would give me an internal service error.

I clicked on the tools icon and it did the same thing as well…

I am wondering what is causing it??? is it an .htacess problem??? A WP-config.php problem???

I do not get the error with the tool icon on the server I normally use.

  • Two common reasons for internal server 500 errors are server problems at your webhost and a bad .htaccess file. Faulty plugins (especially rewrite ones) could also cause this.

Well here is what I did to try to correct it….

I put wordpress in a separate directory with a 100000% fresh install.

    I also used a 10000% fresh database.

I install some of the plugins and they work fine.

When I goto PHP My Admin and do the import of all of the old posts and users, it says stuff has been uploaded.

I go back to the blog and then all the same errors all pop up again…

What can I do to make the export/import process go smoothly….
