    Hello guys,

I have a weird case in here. My client’s website is based on the Philippines in the settings. Someone from the USA was able to place an order on our website but without a shipping method. But I checked and we have a shipping method set for North America. Also, after I found out about this, I tried to use a VPN and viewed our website as a user from the USA and I put the same product, typed the same address as the customer’s, BUT I have a shipping method available. And it’s really weird. Why did it appear on me and not on the customer? How is that possible?

PS. Also thinking about this: I know that woocommerce doesn’t allow ANY order to be placed if the zone is not covered by our shipping zone settings, so let’s say that she is in a location not covered by our shipping zone, why was she still able to place the order?

    Hi @alygraphy,

Testing on your site I added this product to cart and then used a California address during checkout. When proceeding to the shipping page I could see that shipping from DHL Express was present like in this screenshot below.

With regards to locations which have no shipping configured for them that would display a message similar to No Shipping Methods Are Available. This in turn would prevent the customer from ordering the products.

    Hi Stuart,

I did the same thing as you did and I used a VPN in order to checkout as a user from USA. Had the same currency, had the same item, had the same address. I really find it weird that the customer was able to checkout without a shipping method. The customer paid using PayPal.

Here’s a screenshot of the order with the important details blurred out except the country and state.

Do you have any slight idea of how it happened? I’m not exactly sure what to say to my client about the website. No plugins were turned on/off also. No settings were changed.

    Hey @alygraphy,

I carried out some further testing for us today on the site and using a Virginia Beach address a Shipping charge was displayed for me at checkout again.

If you test and complete a test purchase is the shipping added to the order? Is it also only a single order which the shipping is missing from, ie all similar orders on the site are not experiencing the same behaviour?

As you’ll appreciate with not being able to replicate the no shipping being added at checkout it’s hard to say how the order was processed without shipping at the moment.
