    Hi,

    I’ve set up the plugin and activated with API and see the following message to confirm this in the plugin settings:

    You’re connected to MailChimp and Goal tracking has been added to your site. Now all you need to do is send a campaign with Goal tracking enabled.

    Should I not then see the tracking code when I view page source on the front end site? There is no tracking code anywhere.

    Is this wrong or should I not actually see any code here?

    Thanks!

    Hey there —

    Sorry I’m so late on this response. Can you send me a link to your site? You definitely should see the code in the page’s source view.

    Hi, I spoke to support at mailchimp and they presumed it was something with wordpress (or the plugin) that for some reason didn’t put the code in the source. Which didn’t make sense to me. The client has seen goal data in mailchimp though so must be working.

    Could I PM you the details so you could take a quick look at the site please?

    Hey again —

    For security reasons, I try to stay out of folks’ WordPress installations. But if you can re-enable that plugin and send me a link to your site, I’ll poke around the source and see what I can turn up?

    Hi, the plugin is still active and does appear to be working (can see results within mailchimp). Just can’t see anything in the source.

    Is it possible to send you the url of the site privately? Would rather not post it publicly here if poss.

    Sure. If you don’t mind emailing apiconnect [at] mailchimp [dot] com with “WordPress” in the subject line, I’ll be on the lookout.

    It looks like this was a conflict with Autoptimize.

    The functionality is still there, but it looks like the scrip it minimized and kept off-site. Going to look at how to best avoid that in the future, but for now I’ll mark this as resolved. ??

    Please feel free to open another ticket if you see anything else weird!

    Hi guys;
    I’m Autoptimize’s developer. Have a look at AO’s FAQ for info on how you can configure AO to exclude specific scripts from optimization.

    hope this helps,
    frank

    Thanks for the advice Frank.

    Nate, what is the script I need to tell AO to exclude?, I know what the full code of the script is but is there a call to it I can use to tell AO to exclude?

    <!--noptimize--><script>alert('this will not get autoptimized');</script><!--/noptimize-->

    Sorry, could just do with advice on how to do this correctly!

    Yep!

    It’s stored in goalwp/scripts/*. Should be the only script in there.

    Hi Nate,

    ok so in that folder is one file: goal.php

    Please could you advise how to edit the below to correctly tell it to ignore that file?

    <!–noptimize–><script>alert(‘this will not get autoptimized’);</script><!–/noptimize–>

    thanks!

    noptimize-tags would have to be added by mc_nate, but you can exlude the JS from Autoptimizatoin by adding downloads.mailchimp.com to the comma-seperated JS optimization exclusion list igloobob.

    have fun,
    frank
