• I decided to start over with my blog and wanted to change my domain name that I currently had to a different one.

    1. I bought the domain name. Good.
    2. Put the nameserver in godaddy to the hostgator nameserver okay
    3. used fantastico deluxe to add my new domain. BAD. VERY BAD.
    4. Can’t access my old blog to make changes for the new domain name.

I need to start all over! SOS! SOS!

It’s certainly easier to change the domains via the admin panel, but you don’t have to. Just access your WordPress database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel) and manually change the siteurl and home values.

fantastico does not install domains. It does install WP. Maybe you just installed the files over the old one but it would have created a new database. You would need to follow what James said and then change the wp-config.php and you shou be fine.
