I install a plugin, webhost blocks my site
-
I was working on my blog before lunch the other day, editing posts and managing a few plugins. After lunch, I attempted to visit my blog and I get the error page:
The page you requested is unavailable
HTTP 403 – The Default index.html file could not be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. It turns out that my webhost had blocked public access to the site, claiming that some WordPress script had used up the server’s resources and could not release itself after a certain period of time. They said they believed this might be caused by the newly installed plugin (a simple plugin to add youtube posts to the site) and they told me to install the WordPress super cache plugin.
I do not understand why installing a simple YouTube plugin should cause all this trouble. I also do not see why I should have needed to install a plugin to make my webhost’s server load lighter. Should I be afraid to install any plugins in the future??
