I just want to add some pictures to blog. How?

  • I am currently using the WP Falling Dreams themes on my blog. I have just created my blog yesterday and am new to all this. I have installed the ‘insert image” plug-in. I have a few images in my FTP wp-images folder… Yet everytimes I click the “insert image” at the top right of my editing window- I get a pop-up window that says “File not found- The requested URL was not found on this server”. What does this mean and how do I resolve? Also when I try to upload an image as of this morning, I get the following message:

    “It doesn’t look like you can use the file upload feature at this time because the directory you have specified (/home/sites/site48/web/blog/wp-content/wp-images) doesn’t appear to be writable by WordPress. Check the permissions on the directory and for typo”

    I have no clue what the above means- I just want to add some images/photos to my blog!!

    I am thinking of installing a image plugin other than the “insert image”. There is so many to choose from. I need something that is quick and easy. Im not good with some technical language!! Cheers!

    you need to make sure that directory exists, and then “change the permissions”, using presumably, your FTP software that you uploaded the wordpress files with. i searched and found this in the Codex, (which is more helpful than i could write here).
