The other day my employee got a message on the dashboard:

    Swap To FunnelKit Stripe (Recommended)

Use FunnelKit’s Stripe for Maximum Compatibility & Trustworthy Support

Better Express Payment with Apple & Google Pay
Supports One Click Upsells with Express Pay Options
Personalised Support for any payments related issues
Increase Revenue with Buy Now Pay Later services such as Affirm, Klarna and AfterPay
    INSTALL

So he clicked install, having a conflict with the other stripe plugin in the store, and I missed some sales as customers were unable to use stripe for several days.

I investigated the issue and I found that the popup was created by this js: woo-product-feed-pro/js/funnelkit-stripe.js

now, i really like your product, but an ad should look like an ad (and I’m fine with ads in the dashboard), not something that a non tech might confuse with a “mandatory system update” button

Hi @magneticdud I’m really sorry about this experience. We have tried to make this as easily dismissed and as clear as possible on the copy. I’ll review that again to make sure it’s extra clear.

But ideally it should only be showing for the administrator so this mistake is less likely to happen. Can I check, did this user have full admin?

    I hate this upsell.

on my Firefox, the dismiss button is cropped, it shows only as “(X) Dis”

i checked the user permission and I accidentally gave them full admin as opposed as limited shopkeeper as it should have been: it was supposed to be temporary to debug an issue with another dynamic pricing plugin, but then as all the “temporary” solutions it became permanent LOL ?? (well at least I catched this issue, could be worse)

My problem with this popup is that it wasn’t clear who pushed it (my initial thoughts it was that stripe wanted all users to migrate from their woocommerce plugin to this new one, like when PayPal did that), and “install” doesn’t just “install (then manually activate when ready)” but “install & activate”.

I think that’s a fair comment. We’re going to make some adjustments to the wording to make it 100% clear. I’m really sorry it caused confusion, but I guess the silver lining is you found out someone had admin that shouldn’t have!
