I like what I see

I’ve just started to look at this plugin. My initial response is that it has decent functionality for an auction site but I need to have more time with it to decide if it is suitable for my needs.

Not sure if it is sophisticated enough yet!

My ‘thoughts’ are “Why would anyone choose to use MY auction site over eBay. At the moment I can only come up with is (i) if it is cheaper to advertise, (ii) if the functionality is simpler (eBay has got hard to use over time), and (iii) if I can persuade people that there’s a large enough audience for their sale items (in my case I’m going to use it off the back of another site I have with an established user base).”

I will be testing out all the functionality before deciding on whether to make it live.

I’m thinking of using zero insertion fees (to be cheap) for sellers. I will need to understand the commission charging in Ultimate Auction Pro (can’t find it anywhere in the documentation), especially on low priced items as the Paypal fee will be significant (I don’t want to make a loss).

I like the look and feel of the plugin, and Nitesh has helped me to customise the plugin for UK post codes (which I felt was lacking in the pro version) instead of zipcodes for addresses.
