• I actually put together my own theme based on my current web page. I already had a stylesheet, and I just needed a header, content area and sidebar, so it wasn’t too traumatic. But once again, it turns out that I only know enough to be dangerous. When I narrow the browser window, my sidebar slips underneath the content area! What do I need to do?

  • One will always fall afoul of that sort of thing unless one uses percentages for widths. Fixed pixel widths will cause you a fair amount of anguish.

Try looking over some of the 2-column right sidebar themes at https://themes.wordpress.net/ – check out how they’re constructed, how they “flex” at smaller screen sizes etc. It might be easiest to pick one which works as you want and is laid out to suit you, then change graphics and colors….

As the result of some delicate but intense negotiations between the stylesheets of Default and my theme, the problem has been solved–at least until I can get to a PC.
