• I use WordPress 4.6. I took over the maintenance of our project WordPress installation from a former colleague. We moved the installation to a new container and somehow we lost the google analytics functionality.

I tried to re-authorise it but I lack the credentials that my former colleague used to activate/authorise the plugin …. Is there any chance to re-activate it? Or should I re install the plugin every statistic so far is lost ?

It’s not possible to refresh an authenticator key if you can’t log in, or at least it isn’t on any authenticator plugin I know of.

So, try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). This should allow you to log in, so you can reactivate the plugin and generate a new key for yourself.

Sorry I did not make myself clear. I can use the dashboard I have full admin access for wp-admin. I am missing the authentication for the plugin itself. I cleared the authorization through the GA plugin setting and now i cannot re-authenticate it, because the guy that has set it up has left our project (and even if he does remember what the client ID key was he has no recollection was is the “client secret” required…

What is the name of the plugin you’re referring to? (there are several GA plugins)

Ok, in that case, I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/google-analytics-dashboard-for-wp so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.
