• Hi,
I am not sure what happened. I was adding a “categories” widget, and was trying something else which I now forgot, and I lost the blog page. All that is there now is a search bar with the message:

    “Not Found
Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.”

    My site is: https://larrydbernstein.com
    My blog is: https://larrydbernstein.com/me-myself-and-kids

I have been racking my brain over this. Can anyone help or give me a hint? Might be willing to pay if need be.

    Thank you!

  • Just for the heck of it, take a look in General Settings > Reading

..and see if the settings for your “Front Page” and “Posts Page” are what you would expect them to be. I would take a guess that the Posts Page setting might need to to be set to the “Me, Myself and Kids Blog” page, if you are using a static page for your front page setting. That’s just a guess mind you, but something you can check before going any further.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Yes, It is a static home page.
Front Page is set to “Home”
Posts page is set to “Me, Myself and Kids Blog”

So I guess that is correct…

Perhaps there is something corrupted in the .php file responsible for the blog page?

I apologize for the lack of knowledge, but might someone be able to point me to the .php file for that page, if there is one?

There isn’t actually a .php file for the page. It’s all content that’s stored in your database, then retrieved and displayed through the theme templates.

I was adding a “categories” widget, and was trying something else which I now forgot,

You might try deactivating your plugins and see if that changes the behavior at all. If you’ve been using any plugins that specifically address “category base” issues, I might try there first. While it seems an unlikely suspect right now, you might also try refreshing your permalinks. Sometimes odd things can happen when experimenting with plugins.

    Thanks again.

The deactivation of the plugins didn’t do it. But you gave me an idea. Maybe it’s one of the files in my child theme? I added a couple files.
    I’ll give it a try.

But can you tell me (if you are still here!) how I would refresh the permalinks?

    Thank you again.

OK, I got the blog posts back!
I guess I had corrupted the index.php file.
Once I replaced it with the original file it came back.

Thank you Clayton for indirectly giving me the idea.
